This delicious smoothie really has it all. From Star Ruby grapefruit, you’ll enjoy the immune system boost of Vitamin C and other antioxidants, like the lycopene that makes it red. From the banana, you’ll get potassium and fiber, while the apple adds Vitamin A and a natural sweetness. Spinach adds Vitamins K, E, B2, and B6, along with minerals like manganese, folate, magnesium, iron, copper, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and zinc.

Instructions
One hour before
  1. Slice the banana and place it in a freezer-proof container. Freeze for about 1 hour or until frozen solid.
  2. It’s a good idea to keep a few sliced bananas frozen on hand if you plan on making smoothies on a regular basis.
When you’re ready
  1. Peel the grapefruit and remove the seeds over a bowl, reserving any juice. Separate the sections.
  2. Remove the skin from the apple with a sharp knife, and core it. Cut the fruit into chunks.
  3. Add all the ingredients, including any grapefruit juice, to a blender. Blend until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
  4. If it’s too thick, add a little more water. If it’s too thin, you can add more ice.
